From just being born to moving into a new house, she has had a whole new frightening yet exciting world to explore. I've noticed a few things she has done while adjusting.
Wandering and searching, I observe Harley as she explores every nook and cranny of my house. Just like humans, she is learning what and how the things around her live. "Nani, Stitch, and Harley are all playing together. They're running around the house chasing each other, well Nani and Stitch are, Harley follows behind in the back." Field Notes 9/15
That day Harley noticed how my other dogs play, so she, adjusting to her new home, wanted to try. Just like a new kid at school. They follow others to get a feel of things. We aren't really different from animals.
While Harley explores, she adjusts, whether this be by playing or watching. Harley is getting a good feel of her new home and family. This has been so adorable to watch and I'm so excited to see how she starts to grow.
She's so tiny, and her ears are so big. How big are the other dogs? Is she submissive to them? I look forward to watching her grow.
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute! It made me miss my dog :( I really like how you related her adjusting to her new home to a new kid at school because they both need to go through the process of getting comfortable with the enviroment around them. Good connection! :)
ReplyDeleteI really admire how you compare your little dog to humans because I honestly feel that there are so many similarities between human beings and dogs more than most people may think. It almost seems as if they feel or know when their owner or loved ones are hurting at least that's how I see my dogs they react in a very similar way that I do just like our friends tend to do. Like for instance, if i'm having a super boring and sad day they aren't as hyper but they are extremely comforting again like our human friends. Like wise, if I'm having a magnificent day my attitude seems to wear off on them and as a result they act even more playful. I hope your other dogs don't get too jelous of this little one !(:

Harley is so cute! I think watching a new puppy try and adjust to a new home is a fun thing to watch. With her being such a small dog, do you still have to puppy proof your house? How did your other dogs first react to her being there. I also like how you made the comparison between humans and dogs.
